Hazel Bernice (Griffith) Davis Druggan, age 90, was called home to be with the Lord early Monday morning. Hazel was born on December 7, 1924 in Athens, Ohio to the late James E. and Olive Marie (Breaky) Griffith where she was raised and lived until she married James Davis, the father of her three oldest children.
Hazel and her family settled in Jackson, Ohio during WW II, where she felt she accomplished her greatest achievement which was raising her family. She was a full-time homemaker who loved gardening. She was a member of the Rainbow Garden Club for many years. Through the years, she also served as a den mother, homeroom mother, football and band booster and Sunday school teacher.
She is survived by her two children, Norma Jo Davis Arbaugh and Kenneth Haze Druggan; three grandchildren, Michael Todd Davis, Ryan Kirk (Rachel) Davis and Joshua Matthew (Miranda) Davis; great-grandchildren, Bethany White, Sara Pope, Kyle, Joe, Kayla, Emma, Eli and McKenna Davis; great-great-grandchildren, Riley Harter and Jaden and Elliott Pope; siblings, Harriett Carsey and Jess Griffith; two daughters-in-law, Bonnie Davis, Sandra Davis, and her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roman Kenneth Druggan, father of Kenneth Druggan; sons, James H. Davis, Kenneth E. Davis; granddaughters, Jill Stafford, Melissa Davis and first husband, James Davis; and her siblings: four brothers, James, John, Joe, and Jerry Griffiths; and two sisters, Hilda Borden and Helen Rogers.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2015 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson with Pastor Jack Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.
