Edward R. Jarvis, age 78, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. He was born in Hocking County, Ohio, on August 6, 1936 to the late Joshie F. and Elizabeth Ann (May) Jarvis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ida (Crabtree) Jarvis, a sister, Clara Compston and a grandson, Clinton.
Edward was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force (Korean Conflict), huge Ironmen Football fan, a Civil War buff, loved to garden, huge fan of Halloween, a member of the Jackson Rotary Club, a member of the Jackson Christian Church and his greatest hobby was his children and grandchildren. He previously worked at Chun King, was a Jackson City Auditor and a Jackson County Auditor.
He is survived by his wife, Stevie (McElfresh) Jarvis; daughters, Joni (Shain) Colley of Thornville, Ohio, and Leah (Zach) Hamlin of Albany, Ohio; sons, Gwyn Waulk of Jackson, Matt (Brenda) Waulk of Gallipolis, Ohio, and Christopher Waulk of Jackson; grandchildren: Paige, Brandi, Rhett, Matthew, Lindsey, Zach, Chase, Tiffany and Taylor; great-grandchildren: Presley, Kohen, Corbin, Zachary and Carlee; special friend, Joeleen Dulaney and many nephews and nieces.
Friends will be received at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home Saturday, June 20, from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, June 21, at 3 p.m. with Rev. Kerry Reed officiating. Burial will be at convenience of family.
