Carolyn Ann Gilliland, age 70, of Jackson, Ohio passed away peacefully on June 3, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family and friends. Carolyn was born July 11, 1944 in Oak Hill, Ohio to Dewey Fox and Mabel King.
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband, Dan Gilliland of Jackson, Ohio; six children: Lynn (Keith) Denny, Mac “Greg” Trace, Ila Wickline, Mechelle (Greg) White, Angie Goodwin, and Danny Gilliland all of Jackson, Ohio. She is also survived by grandchildren: Stacy (Jamie) Gray, Tracy Denny (Derick Ervin) of Jackson, Ohio , Shane Trace (David Gossard) of Grove City, Ohio, Beau Reigel, Brandon Trace, Zachary Goodwin, Katlyn Trace, Matthew Goodwin, Austin Wickline, and Delany Gilliland all of Jackson, Ohio. She also leaves behind one brother, Marlin (Jean) Fox of Naperville, Illinois; six great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, and many other close family and friends.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her father, Dewey Fox; her mother, Mabel King; step-father, Art King; and two brothers, Gregory King and Dwight King. She is also preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Donna (Malone) Trace.
Carolyn loved her family and friends with all of her heart. She loved to garden and cook, was an avid bingo player, and loved spending time at home with her beloved dog “Miss Daisy.” Carolyn was the pillar and rock of her family and she will be greatly missed.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 5, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Jimmy Marcus officiating. Burial will follow at C.M. Cemetery in Oak Hill, Ohio.
