Robert Lee Brady, Sr., age 73, of Wellston, was gathered peacefully to the Lord Jesus Christ, on Sunday, April 5, 2015, from the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, while surrounded by his family. He was born January 29, 1942 in Coal Township, Ohio to the late Wilbur C. Brady and Lidora Frances Viers Brady.
Robert worked hard to provide for his family, and proudly retired, after 15 years of service, from the Ohio Department of Transportation where he received numerous recognitions. Beyond his work, Robert was an avid gardener, a lifelong fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes, and a lover of every western movie he watched, especially those with Roy Rogers and Gene Autry. Robert was a member of the New Covenant Worship Center.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Judy Ball Brady; children, Trudie Brown of Jackson, Robert Brady, Jr. (Shannon) of Jackson, John Brady (Amy) of Jackson, Phillip Brady (Amber) of Hanover, Pennsylvania, David Brady (Ladonya) of Grove City, Rev. Michael Brady (Melissa) of Chillicothe, Rev. Samuel Brady, Sr. (Rebekah) of Jackson and Mary Brady of Jackson; brothers, Gary Brady of Ashville, Raney Brady of McArthur and Rick Brady of Glen Roy, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Robert was preceded in death by brothers, Charles “Jitters” Brady, Bill Brady and Emory Brady, and sisters, Kaye Perry, Phyllis Brady, Allie Pohto and infant sisters, Jackie and Donna.
Following cremation, there will be a celebration of life service at a later date at the New Covenant Worship Center, with Bishop James Marquis officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Ridgewood Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.
