Nettie Florence (McGhee) Nichols

Nettie Florence (McGhee) Nichols, 87, of Jackson County, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2014 at Holzer Medical Center Jackson-Hospice. She was born July 14, 1927 to Wilbur Fenn McGhee and Mary Leah Miller McGhee, the third of five children. She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Floyd Jacob Nichols; brothers, Jay, Don, and Jim; sister, Betty Kathryn and baby grandson, Anthony Curtis.

Nettie will be greatly missed by her daughter, Diana (Ab) Forshey; son, David (Glenda) Nichols; daughter, Cheryl (Danny) Frazier; grandchildren: Lisa Christian, Melissa (Paul) Chambers, Carrie Fabian, Beth (Clayton) Ray, Brynna Frazier (fiancée Jamie Cook), Jared (Suzy) Forshey, Jacob (Laura) Frazier, and Shannon (Heather) Nichols; great-grandchildren: Katrina (Matt) Rausenberg, Austin and Cameron Chambers, Madison and Mackenzie Fabian, Emmaleigh Cook, Owen Frazier, and one on-the-way baby boy Forshey; and great-great-grandchildren: Jenna, Kairi, and Lexie Rausenberg. Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Donna Jean Perry, Ruth Nichols and Nancy (Larry) Prindle; brother-in-law, Ralph Dale (Jessie) Nichols; and several nieces and nephews; as well as special friends, Fred and Norma Riegel, Doris Roberts, and the DT&I gang.

Nettie was a kind, gentle woman who was loved by all. She was a great listener and always ready to give you a big hug when you needed it. She was a devoted wife and mother and loved her grandbabies so much that she kept toys for them to play with when they came to see her. She loved feeding the birds and watching golf. She will be sorely missed but is at peace with those who passed before her.

She is at Lewis-Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson, Ohio. Calling hours will be on Sunday, November 30, 2014 from 12 p.m. until the time of the service. Service will begin at 1 p.m. with burial following at Fairmount Cemetery.
