Alice McMillen Gill, age 95, of Centerville, Ohio, and a former resident of McArthur, passed away Friday morning, November 7, 2014, at the Heartland of Centerville. She was born June 6, 1919 at Berlin Crossroads in Wellston, Ohio to the late John Edward McMillen and Mary Pauline Lantz McMillen.
Alice was a 1937 graduate of Wellston High School. She was a former accountant at Gill Chevrolet in McArthur and bookkeeper for B&D Coal Company in Hamden for several years prior to her retirement. Alice was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wellston, the Business and Professional Women’s Organization in McArthur and she enjoyed bowling.
She is survived by step-sons, Michael C. Gill (Cathleen) of Centerville and David L. Gill (Cara Dawn) of McArthur; nephew, Jon McMillen (Michelle) of Wellston; niece, Jane Ann Swann of Wellston, as well as three great-nieces, one great-great-nephew, six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Gill in 2006; brother, Leo McMillen; sister, Jean McMillen and step-daughter, Marianne Knox.
Calling hours will be Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Graveside funeral service will follow on Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the Salem Cemetery with John Pelletier, CLP officiating.
