Vic H. Lenegar, 81, of Wellston, Ohio, entered his Heavenly Home
on Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at his residence. He was born in Milton
Township, Jackson County, Ohio, on September 22, 1933, son of the late
Bert and Florence Smith Lenegar. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having
served from 1953 to 1955 in Michigan as a generator operator. He worked at the Hercules “ Pants Factory “ in Wellston for 22 years and then at the Southern Ohio Coal Company Meigs Mine #2 for 19 years, retiring in 1994.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Katherine Kisor, Phoebe Frazee, Bonnie Nichols, and Betty Frisby; and five brothers, Bert, Joe, Charles, Ray, and Jim Lenegar.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Lou Murray Lenegar; special niece Kayla Murray of Hamden; special nephew who lives with Mary Lou to help care for her and helped care for Vic, Robert Murray; several other nieces and nephews; and two sisters, Jane Spellacy of Circleville, and Gladys Cardwell of Wellston.
The family invites friends to the Jenkins Funeral Chapel in Wellston on Friday for visitation hours from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Jenkins Chapel with Pastor Dave Washington officiating. Vic will be buried in the Ridgewood Cemetery in Wellston with military honors provided by the American Legion Post #371 of Wellston.
