Donald Taborn, 81, a former Hamden, Ohio, resident, went home with the Lord on Sunday morning, April 20, 2014, at Forest Hills Center in Columbus, Ohio.
He was born in Flint, Michigan, on March 30, 1933, son of the late Theodore and Audrey Newman Taborn. He was enlisted in the USMC during the Korean War as a Lance Corporal. He was employed by the Chrysler Corporation in manufacturing. He was a member of the Hamden United Methodist Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, David and Donald Taborn; a daughter, Melody Crouch; and two brothers, Charles and Orville Taborn.
Surviving are six grandchildren, Aaron Taborn, Kevin Adkins, Tanner Crouch, Angel Crouch, David Crouch and Levi Martin; one brother, John (Hannelore) Taborn of Austin,Texas; three sisters, June (Hugh) Barnhill of Centerville, Ohio, Joan (Bob) Ballard of Westerville, Ohio, and Martha Barnett of Bellefontaine, Ohio; and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Jenkins Funeral Chapel in Wellston on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m.
Pastor Jammie Wilhelm will officiate the services and burial will follow in the Hamden Cemetery. Veterans’ honor services will be provided by American Legion Post #371 of Wellston at the Cemetery.
