Wallace B. Hale, age 77, of Oak Hill, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Heartland of Jackson. He was born July 6, 1936 in Risner, KY to the late Willie and Allie (Prater) Hale.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jean (Vickers) Hale of Oak Hill, Ohio; children, Jan (Vince) Burton of Grove City, OH, David (Teresa) Tope of Richmond, KY, and Mark (Charlene) Hale of Oak Hill; grandchildren, Nicole (Kyle) Holland, Jarrod (Sara) Hale, Candice (Bryan) Tope-Phillips, McKayla (Michael) Swingle, and Aaron (Jenny) Burton; sisters, Wanda Hale of McArthur, Shirlene Amerine of Zaleski, OH, and Emma (Walter) Jean Norris of Wellston; brothers, Gary (Jenny) Hale of McArthur, David (Diane) Hale of Albany, OH, Marvin Hale of Albany, OH, Glenn (Judy) Hale of McArthur, Bill (Tammy) Hale of McArthur; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles Hale, Ellis James Hale, and sister, Sarah Hale.
Wallace retired from Grant Trucking and was a member of the Evangelical Community Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 16, 2014 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Herman Stewart and Rev. Stan Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Horeb Cemetery with a military graveside services by the DAV Chapter 45 of Jackson. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the funeral home.
