James Everett Simpson, 72, of Jackson, went to be with the Lord January 4, 2014.
Born on February 20, 1941, he was a retired Veteran of the United States Army (20 years), and a Vietnam Veteran. He was also a devoted volunteer firefighter while residing in Colorado several years ago. He was preceded in death by his parents James B. and Arleda Rouse Simpson, sister Dorothy M. (Fisher), sister Delores L. (Downard), and brother Steven B. Simpson; also one sister-in-law, Nancy Simpson and one brother-in-law, Dean Downard, all of Jackson.
He is survived by three brothers, Kenneth E. (Kathryn) Simpson, Walter P. Simpson, Donald L. (Barbara) Simpson and two sisters, Connie (Tim) Manion and Bonnie (Elba) Manion; one brother-in-law, Gary Fisher and one sister-in-law, Rhonda Simpson. He also had numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. There will be no calling hours or services per his wishes. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
