Dale W. Arms, age 80, of Hamden, passed away unexpectedly Friday, January 17, 2014, at the Holzer Medical Center ER in Jackson, Ohio. He was born June 19, 1933 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Clarence E. Arms and Clara N. Decker Arms.
Dale was a former truck driver and a veteran of the United States Army, having served from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed woodworking and playing the harmonica and he loved traveling, motorcycles and cars.
Dale is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth L. “Betty” Jayjohn Arms; son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Amy Arms of Gallipolis; six grandchildren, Shannon Bianco, Shane Arms, Misty Dawn, Shawn Arms, Glen “J.R.” Arms, Jr. and Kaleb Arms; two brothers, Gene Arms of Wellston and Victor (Carol) Arms of Hamden; two sisters, Virginia Beatty of Nashville, Tennessee and Carolyn (Bill) Crump of Stephenville, Texas, as well as five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Dale was preceded in death by an infant brother, Glen Arms and two sisters, Beverly Varney and Betty Burns.
At Dale’s request, his body was cremated and there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dale’s name can be given to a favorite charity of one’s choice.
