Faye Juanita (Keels) Crump, age 86, of Blackfork, passed away Thursday February 7, 2013 at Heartland of Jackson.
She was born July 9, 1926 in Gallia Co. to the late Cash and Katherine (Harris) Keels. She was a proud Native American Indian Woman. She was a member of the Union Baptist Church, she enjoyed traveling and cooking. She was a very social person and she fought for Native American rights as well as the rights of other minorities as a member of the NAACP.
She is survived by her sister, Nancy J. Crump, of Findley Ohio; special niece Vikki, that they raised, from Beavercreek, Ohio; two special nephews, A.J. and James Sawyer; and special niece Autumn Lee, of Beavercreek, Ohio; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins and a multitude of friends. She dearly loved all of her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James W. Crump, who was the love of her life; brother, Clarence V. Keels; sisters, Faira Jean (Keels) Crump, and Ida M. (Keels) Long.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, February 11, 2013 at the Union Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Union Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 12- 1 p.m. at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home in Oak Hill.
