Philip Bailey, age 64, of Jackson passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2012 at the University of Cincinnati Hospital. He was born November 13, 1947 in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Hersel and Kathren Prater Bailey. He loved to attend church and was a member of the Deercreek Freewill Baptist Church, Co-owned and operated the Bailey Shoe Store in Jackson, member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Jackson Chapter 634 and was a member of the American Legion, Jefferson Howell Post 81 of Jackson.
He is survived by his wife Sandra Arthur Bailey; daughters Kendra (Kevin) Shope and Kathy Bennington; brother Patrick (Carol) Bailey; sister, Marsha (Jim) Butler; great-grandchildren. Courtney Long and Philip Bennington; nieces, Tami Fletcher, Ashley Bailey and Laura Worthington; nephews, Scott Bailey, Adam Bailey and Mathew Butler.
He is preceded I death by his parents, sister Polly Larson and brother Paul Livingston,
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home with Brother Mickey Maynard officiating and burial followed in the Bethel Ridge Cemetery. Calling hours were held from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, October 14, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donation be made to the Deercreek Freewill Baptist Church, c/o Mickey Maynard, 24 Lee Road, Gallipolis, Ohio 45631 or the American Cancer Society, Central Region Office-JACK, 5555 Frantz Rd, Dublin, Ohio 43017.
