Kenneth E. Souders, age 88, of Wellston, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012, at the Holzer Medical Center in Jackson. He was born April 10, 1923 in Wellston, Ohio, the son of the late Chester Orville Souders and Ruth Mae Leach Souders.
Ken was a 1941 graduate of Wellston High School and was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during WW II. He was retired from McNally Pittsburg Manufacturing where he worked as a draftsman. He was a member of the Hope United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post 371 of Wellston and the Wellston Senior Citizens.
Ken is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Ann Dixon Souders; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth Michael and Connie Souders of Toledo and Terry Jay and Karen Souders of Chillicothe; four grandchildren, Christin Souders, Katie Souders, Kevin Souders and Jason Souders; sister, Ruth Essman of Wellston, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Harold “Hebe” Souders and David Souders.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Rev. Glen Herman officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Post 371 of Wellston.
