Ruth Marie Mercer, age 85, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020 at Jenkins Care Community of Wellston, Ohio. She was born July 6, 1935 in Coalton, Ohio to the late William and Helen Goheen.
She is survived by her sister, Nora (Dick) Spires; children: Bill (Debrah) Scherer, Melissa (Pete) Bopp, Trudi Browning, and Brad (Jonda) Dunn; grandchildren: Nate Scherer, Jennifer Garvin, Tammy Dixon, Joey Dixon, and Garrett Browning; several great-grandchildren; a niece, Vicki (Rodger) Lucas; and nephew, Mike (Liz) Ramey.
Private family services will be held under the direction of the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Interment will be in Fairmount Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Central Ohio Chapter, 1379 Dublin Road, Columbus, OH 43215.
