Robert William Smith, age 83, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away at Heartland on Thursday, October 17, 2013. He was born September 3, 1930 to the late William and Ollie (Wright) Smith in Stockdale, Ohio.
Robert was previously employed by R.J. Reynolds, Jeno’s, and retired from Pillsbury. He was a member of the Coon Hunter’s Club and the Beagle Club. He was also a member of the Jackson Apostolic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Fox) Smith; children, Robert (Bonnie) Smith of Jackson, Ohio; Kathy (Willie) Fox of Jackson, Ohio; and Ricky Smith of Columbus, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Genevieve (Mannering) Smith.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson, Ohio. Friends and family may call on Saturday, October 19, from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 20 at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Coalton, Ohio with Bud Smith officiating.
