Marilyn L. Ramsey, age 81, of Wellston, passed away Monday, September 3, 2012, at the Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio. She was born June 2, 1931 in Wellston, Ohio, the daughter of the late Daniel Preston Ramsey and Mabel M. Gray Ramsey. Marilyn was a former housekeeper for several people in the local area and she formerly attended the Trinity United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her siblings, Mel Ramsey (Doris) of South Carolina, Ila Compston of Wellston, Sue Johnston (Joe) of Dayton, Sharon Ramsey of Dayton and Roger Ramsey (Mary) of Wellston; sister-in-law, Patty Ramsey Miller of Parkersburg, as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Besides her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by infant siblings, Betty Ramsey and Billy Ramsey; brothers, Jim Ramsey and Dan Ramsey (Doris), and brother-in-law, John Compston.
Calling hours will be Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Griffith officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
