Sharon Lee (McCain) Smith, age 68, of Oak Hill, passed away Sunday morning, September 2, 2012. She was born October 28, 1943 in Oak Hill, Ohio and was one of six children, to the late John and Lessie (Craft) McCain. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister known by many as “Nanny.” She formerly worked at the Oak Hill Hospital and attended The Evangelical Church in Oak Hill.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Herbert Smith, whom she loved till the very end; one brother, Wayne and one sister, Donna.
She is survived by a son, Brian (Angie) Smith and daughter, Angela (Smith) Bates; six grandchildren, Devan, Emily, Rylee, Alex, Morgan and Katie, whom she loved and who loved her beyond belief; also one great-granddaughter, Haley survives.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at the Lewis-Gillum Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Stan Howard officiating and burial to follow in C.M. Cemetery beside her soulmate Paul. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the day of the funeral service till the time of the funeral.
