LuCinda “Cindy” McManaway

LuCinda “Cindy” McManaway (McCartney), 74, was called home suddenly on March 31, 2020 after battling a short illness. She was born on Nov. 13, 1945 to John and Esther McCartney in Wellston, Ohio. She was a 1963 graduate of Wellston High School and a 1966 graduate of Holzer’s School of Nursing. Over the next 45 years, she worked in nursing in some form but her heart was always in geriatric medicine.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ferdinand and Louisiana Vowell; paternal grandparents; sisters, Elma Jane Walton and Helen Leasure; and niece, Jan Robinson.

She is survived by Michael, her husband of 53 years; daughters, Shanna and Katy (Gary) Blacklidge; grandsons, Gunner and Tucker Blacklidge; nephew, John Leasure; numerous other nieces and nephews; along with several dear, close personal friends.
