Freddie, A. Swaney, age 68, of Jackson, passed away Monday, September 14, 2015. He was born October 5, 1946 in Jackson, Ohio to the late Oscar and Blumey Swaney. He had 16 brothers and sisters, with three surviving.

His survivors include his siblings, Patty Wolford and Elsie (Wilbur) Rouse, of Jackson, Ohio and Dave (Sandy) Cruse, of Florida; a son, Tony West, of Jackson; and a daughter, Tammie Brink, of Kentucky, all of whom are left to mourn him. He is also survived by four granddaughters: Brianna West, Tonie West, Lillian West and Abigail West, all of Jackson, Ohio; as well as his well-known dog “Jack” who was his best friend and will miss him also.

Fred was a United States Army veteran and was stationed in Germany, receiving an expert rifleman citation. He retired from the City of Jackson. He was a good friend to all, including his brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and fellow workers.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.
