Marvin E. Marks, age 79, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Riverside Methodist Hospital of Columbus. He was born November 30, 1935 to the late Clyde and Vernetta (Lambert) Marks.

Marvin was a member of The Rolling Buckeyes and the morning Coffee Club of Jackson, McDonald’s. He was also a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars and lawnmowers, and watching the Reds and the Buckeyes. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather whose family was a priority for him. He will be remembered as a hard-working and loving man and will be missed by those who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Leach) Marks of Jackson, Ohio; children, Rhonda (Rex) Phillips of Hamden, Ohio and Richard Marks of Jackson, Ohio; grandchildren, Andrea Minton, Abby (Bill) Tolbert, and Jamie Phillips; great-grandchildren, Isabel Minton and William and Bethany Tolbert; a brother, Lowell (Betty) Marks; a sister, Kay (Fred) Mergel; sister-in-law, Judy Groves; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Marks and daughter-in-law, Debbie Marks.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
