Ronald Lee “Ron” Kearns

Ronald Lee “Ron” Kearns, age 69, of Jackson passed away peacefully on June 4, 2022, at Adena Pike Hospital. He was born on April 12, 1953, in Gallipolis, Ohio to the late James A. Kearns and Emma Jean (Munyan) Kearns.

Ron was a 1971 Jackson High School graduate and worked as a machinist at D.T.&I. and later at Jackson Plastics and General Mills. He loved drag racing, held IHRA records and won numerous events in addition to operating Kearns Brothers Automotive with his brother, David. Ron was an avid Ohio State and Jackson Ironmen Football fan and loved spending time with friends and family.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Teresa “Diane” Kearns; in addition to his daughter, Ronda (Aaron) Kearns-Strawser. Also surviving are his brother, Steve (Judy) Kearns; and sister, Sallie Kearns Franklin; grandchildren: Riley Strawser, Aden Strawser and Zack McGowan; nephews: David Kearns, Steven Kearns, Markus Kearns; and nieces: Krystal Keaton Rawlins, Amanda Kearns-Jenkins and Adrianna Kearns. He is preceded in death by brothers: David Kearns, James “Jimmy” Kearns, Bobby Kearns; sister, Marjan (Kearns) Keaton; and nephew, JD Franklin.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Fairmount Cemetery.
