Eleanor Juanita Evans, age 81, of Oak Hill, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Four Winds Community in Jackson, Ohio. She was born December 19,1940, in Oak Hill, Ohio to the late John and Elizabeth (Crabtree) Slater.
Eleanor was a graduate of Oak Hill High School Class of 1958. She was a charter member of Liberty Baptist Church. Eleanor was an avid reader; she loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and could make conversation with anyone.
She is survived by her children: Patti (Alan) Saunders and David (Shirley) Evans; grandchildren: Jeremy (Emary) Mustain, Nathan (Kelly) Saunders, Bethany Saunders, Nicole (Corey) Ruby, Michael (Caitlyn) Evans, and Derek Sandera; great-grandchildren: Luke Saunders, Logan Saunders, Leah Saunders, Alissa Mustain, Mason Ruby, Parker Ruby, Evan Ruby, and Alaina Evans; as well as her siblings: Dianne (Russ) Bush and Johnny (Terri) Slater. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Roger Dale Evans; a daughter, Shari (Evans) Mustain Sandera; and a sister, Vernita (Nedie) Dickens.
Friends may call on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastors Bucky Shoemate and Jeremy VanDine officiating. Burial will follow in C.M. Cemetery.
