Billy “Bill” Partlow

Billy Eugene “Bill” Partlow, age 90, of Wellston, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson, Ohio. He was born February 16, 1932, in Wellston, Ohio to the late Lawrence L. “Jack” Partlow and Kathryn J. Collins Partlow. Bill was a 1950 graduate of Wellston High School, where he participated in football and basketball. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served as a Corporal during the Korean War. Following over 30 years of employment, Bill retired from A.J. Stockmeister Inc. In his younger days, Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as bowling, golfing and horseback riding. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wellston and a former member and Master of Victory Grange for several years. Bill especially enjoyed the annual preparation of apple butter for the Jackson County Apple Festival.

He is survived by his children: Susan Boggs (Randy) of Springfield and Stephen J. Partlow of Wellston. Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Mary Lou Partlow, on August 2, 2021; and his sister, Mary Jane Walburn.

Calling hours will be Sunday, March 20, from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral services will follow the calling hours at 2 p.m. with Pastor Tim Jones officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
