Steven “Steve” Williams

Steven M. “Steve” Williams, age 68, of Wellston, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at his home. He was born May 31, 1953, in Gallipolis, Ohio, son of the late Alfred “Toots” Williams and Martha Ann Dixon Williams. Steve graduated from Wellston High School with the class of 1971. He was a former employee of McNally-Pittsburg Manufacturing for several years, as well as a self-employed truck driver and the original owner of Williams Bait Shop in Wellston. In his spare time, Steve enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed playing the guitar and was a member of the former Cinder Alley Band.

Steve is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary L. Brenner Williams; children: Amy Williams and Mike Williams (Stefanie); grandchildren: Christopher Williams, Kirstan Collins, Zachary Williams, Chloe Williams and Maddie Williams; brothers: Jim Bob Williams and Mark Williams (Penny); along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by grandchildren: Chelsey, Kelsey and Nathaniel; and brothers, Dave Williams and Tim Williams.

Calling hours will be Sunday, March 13, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral services will be Monday, March 14, at 11 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Rev. Bud Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery.
