William Goheen

William H. Goheen Sr, 79 of Wellston, Ohio passed away Friday, February 25, 2022. He was born July 29, 1942 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Howard and Maxine Wisenburger Goheen. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Roger L. Goheen and Charles E. Goheen.


Bill was always a hard worker and was willing to help anyone who needed it. He loved his family and God. He also loved to to fish, camp and spending time with his family. He moved away when he was just a young boy to work and started his family. After retiring from Rieter Dairy in Springfield Ohio, he moved back home to Jackson County where his family was blessed to spend quality time with him. He also gave his heart to the Lord and is now rejoicing with God, the Angels and all his family in Heaven, so stand by the gate brothers and wait for us. We love you and will dearly miss you.


He is survived by friend and companion Lana Sheilds Damaron, four daughters: Lisa Brown of Florida, Cindy Boysel of Springfield, Ohio, Wendy (Jimmy) Hess of Springfield, Ohio and Julie (David) Jacobs of Tennessee, two sons: William Goheen of Florida and Michael Goheen of Springfield, Ohio. He is also survived by three sisters: Linda Howell of Coalton, Joyce (Dave) Clarkson of Jackson and Beverly Goheen of Creolo, Ohio, 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Socks.


Funeral services will be held at 2PM Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Hall officiating with burial to follow in the Fairmount Cemetery. The family will receive friends 3 hours prior the services from 11AM-2PM. Condolences may be sent to the family at
