James “Jimmy” Holsinger

James Donald “Jimmy” Holsinger, age 72, of Wellston, passed away Monday, December 13, 2021, at his home. He was born September 16, 1949, in Martin, Kentucky, son of the late Dixie Grace Robison. Jimmy was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. He was a corrections officer who was a former employee of Hocking Correctional Institution. Jimmy was a very talented bluegrass musician and singer, having performed with Ralph Stanley, Dwight Whitley and many others over the years. Jimmy was a lifetime member of the D.A.V. and the American Legion.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Constance L. Ferrell Holsinger, and their two fur babies, Shelba and Holly. Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Deborah Blanton.

Calling hours will be Friday, December 17, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston with Pastor Tim Jones officiating.
