David Windon

David L. Windon, age 81, of Jackson, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. He was born June 19, 1940, in Oak Hill, Ohio to the late Othel David and Margarate Ruth (Heading) Windon.

He is survived by his daughter, Sally (Jeff) Puckett, of Delaware, Ohio; and grandson, First Lieutenant Veteran, Jared Puckett, of California. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Judy Windon; sister, Ann Wires; nephew, Steven Wires; and brother-in-law, George Wires. 

David graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1959. He worked at the Oak Hill Garage (owned by Bob Burnside) after graduation and A.P. Green. He loved fishing and listening to “oldies music.” He became a Christian later in his life and enjoyed talking with people and supporting different organizations in need. He retired from Waterloo Coal Company. 

Visitation will be held Friday, December 10, 2021, from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Cline Rawlins officiating. Burial will follow in CM Cemetery.
