Candy Sue Swaney, age 47, of Ray, passed away at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus on Friday, November 19, 2021. She was born in Gallipolis, Ohio on December 1, 1973, to Eileen (Goheen) Swaney and the late Earl Ray Swaney.
Besides her mother, she is survived by he life partner, Chester D. Close; her sons: Chester Close and Jesse Close; grandchildren: Elira Close, Orrie Close and Ava Close; step-grandchildren: Bently Pesta and Zaylynn Arndy; half-brothers: Shawn Swaney, Bobby Mullins and Jeffrey Swaney; and half-sisters: Heather Swaney and Samantha Swaney. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and friends.
Above all, Candy loved her family. She enjoyed auctions, cats and animals, collecting Thomas Kincaid items, roller skating, playing cards and games and country living.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions be made to the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home, 135 Broadway St., Jackson, Ohio 45640 to help with Candy’s funeral expenses.
