Robert Barry

Robert Lee Barry, age 62, of Jackson, Ohio passed away November 7th, 2021, at his home. He was born March 28th, 1959, in Grayson, Kentucky to the late Lucille (Davis) Barry and James Barry.

Robert, Uncle Robert, Uncle Pap, or Bert, as he was affectionately known, was a hard-working man with a heart of gold. He was an excellent woodworker, enjoyed talking politics and loved a good debate. He was strong in his faith and loved going to church and talking about religion. One of his greatest joys in life was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Children were naturally drawn to Robert, and he loved them as much as they loved him. His friends and family will miss him dearly.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 42 years, Doris (Perry) Barry of Jackson, Ohio; daughter, Mindy Barry (Matthew) Eisnaugle of Jackson, Ohio; son, Robert “Robbie” Barry II of Jackson, Ohio; grandsons: Chathan (Gabby) McCoy of Oak Hill, Ohio, Cole Barry and Sawyer Eisnaugle, both of Jackson, Ohio; great-grandchildren: Elijah, Parker, and Zoey McCoy, all of Oak Hill, Ohio; brothers and sisters: Linda (Black) Ratcliff of Gallipolis, Ohio, Pete (Denise) Barry of Thurman, Ohio, Mike Barry (Carla Abshire), Mandy (Gary) VanBibber of Jackson, Ohio, William (Margie) Barry of Rio Grande, Ohio, Tim Barry of Milford, Indiana, and Maggie Brewer of Rio Grande, Ohio; as well as numerous other extended family members. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: James, Harmon, and Tom; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Sunday, November 21, 2021, from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with pastor Burley Muncy officiating. Burial will follow in Centerpoint Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations of unwrapped toys can be brought to the Oak Hill or Jackson Funeral Home location, dropped off at Sitting Pretty at 384 Main St., Jackson, OH, or to Jackson County Veterans Services Office, 157 Broadway St., Jackson, OH.
