Emma Holtz

Emma L. Holtz, age 85, of Jackson, went home to her heavenly home on Wednesday, November 10, 2021. She was born November 27, 1935, in Chillicothe, Ohio, daughter of the late Robert Lee Jornigan, Sr. and Hazel Louise Ellison Jornigan. Emma was a retired Registered Nurse and a member of the former Trinity United Methodist Church in Wellston. She was an avid reader and enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her family.

Emma is survived by daughter and son-in-law: Carolyn (Holtz) and Ronald Malone of Jackson and daughter, Patricia Holtz of Jackson, with whom she made her home; granddaughter and grandson-in-law: Amanda (Malone) and Chad Stevens and great-grandson, Casen Stevens, all of Jackson; sister, Mary Short of Lakeview; brother, Scott Jornigan of Lima; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Carrie and Norman Powell of McArthur; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents, Emma was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Daniel “Danny” Holtz, who died November 25, 1987, while fighting a fire on duty with the Wellston Fire Department; brothers: Robert L. Jornigan, Jr. and John Jornigan; sister, Lula Belle Settlemire; brother-in-law, Carl Holtz (Ruth); sisters-in-law and husbands: Beulah and Dan Morrow and Herbert J. and Beatrice Kay (Holtz) Lucas.

Public graveside service will be Sunday, November 14, at 1 p.m. at the Ridgewood Cemetery in Wellston with Pastor Tim Jones officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com
