Daryl L. Petrie, age 83, of Jackson, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, October 25, 2021. He was born in Gallipolis, Ohio on November 30, 1937, to the late Clyde A. and Nadine (Kitts) Petrie. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings: Frank Petrie, Bill Petrie, Elsie Oiler and David Petrie.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Irene V. (Glenn) Petrie; his children: Terry (Bob) Nicholson, Jim (Martha) Petrie, Robin (Steve) Muncy all residing in Jackson, Ohio, and Steve (Elena) Petrie of Madison, Alabama; seven grandchildren: Christopher Petrie, Rebekah Wolford, Travis Ritenour, Haley Denny, Natalie Nicholson, Tyler Petrie, Sara Petrie and David Gonzalez; eight great-grandchildren: Ryker Wolford, Briley, Graham, and Emmett Ritenour, Greyson and Shaylee Wyant, and Skylar and Weston Denny; and siblings: Norman Petrie of Columbus, Ohio, and Mary George and Karen Petrie both from Vinton, Ohio.
Daryl served as a Deacon of the Coalton Freewill Baptist Church in Coalton, Ohio for over 30 years. He was an avid Jeopardy, Ohio State and Cincinnati Reds fan. Also, he enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home in Jackson, Ohio on Friday, October 29, 2021, at 12 p.m. Pastor Tim Simpson of Coalton Freewill Baptist Church will be officiating. The family will receive friends and family beginning at 11 a.m., one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Vinton Memorial Gardens in Gallia County.
