Terry L. Geer, age 78, of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at the Holzer Medical Center in Jackson. He was born May 15, 1943, in Portsmouth, Ohio to Merrill Eugene Geer, Sr. and Pauline Ruth Kisor Geer. Terry graduated from Wellston High School in 1961. Following 38 years of employment, he retired from Huntington National Bank in Columbus, where he started out as a messenger boy and retired as Senior Vice President of the bank. Terry was a member of the Church of Christ in Wellston, where he served as their minister for 10 years. He was also one of the founding fathers of the Pickerington Church of Christ and an elder at the Reynoldsburg Church of Christ. Terry was fascinated with anything that had motors and wheels; cars were his passion. Throughout his life, he was active in several clubs and organizations, including the Grumpy Peddlers, TOSRV, Optimist Club, United Way and Goodwill, to name a few. In 2016, Terry had the honor of being inducted into the Wellston Wall of Fame. In his spare time, he always enjoyed camping, biking, racquetball, golfing and watching the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Terry is survived by his mother, Pauline Geer of Wellston; his wife of 57 years, Carolyn K. Hall Geer; children: Ryan Geer (Tammy) of Loveland, Ginger Gregory (David) of Cleveland and Tricia Mullins of Nashville, Tennessee; grandchildren: Caleb, Colin, Kaci, Esther and Moriah; brother, Gene Geer (Linda) of Wellston; sister, Billijean Wright of Vinton; along with several aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Merrill Geer; brother, Wesley Geer; and brother-in-law, John Wright.
Calling hours will be Sunday, October 24, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral services will follow the calling hours at 3 p.m., with Minister Irving Everson officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery.
