Gladys “Polly” Sinclair-Cavey, age 94, of Jackson, passed away at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021 due to complications of COVID-19. She was born in Jackson on Dec. 17, 1926 to the late Fredrick and Kathryn (Whaley) Altherr.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry “Buck” Sinclair; her second husband, Charles “Pete” Cavey; a son, John “Jeff” Sinclair; and three sisters: Ruby Altherr, Juanita Loftis and Shirley Howell.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Levite; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; a brother, Fred Altherr; and several nieces and nephews with whom she was very close.
Polly was a voracious reader, loved music and visiting with family and friends.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.
