Dolores Kay Riegel

Dolores Kay Riegel, age 77, of Jackson, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020 at Four Winds Nursing Home.  She was born on Feb. 23, 1943 in Yukon, West Virginia to the late Eldridge and Nina Mae (McGuire) King.

She lived many places around West Virginia and Kentucky, then finally settling here in Ohio. She graduated from Jackson High School in the Class of ’61.

Shortly after graduating she married her sweetheart, Roy J. Riegel on June 8, 1963.  In their 57 years of marriage they had three children: Carl (Kimberly) Riegel of Jackson, Ohio, Alan (Sarah) Riegel of Centerburg, Ohio and Susan (Warren) Parker of Cedar City, Utah. She also loved being a grandma to her seven grandchildren: Joshua (Melissa) Riegel, Haley (Eric) Carretta, Lauren (Reuben) Dotson, Hunter Parker, Ben Riegel, Alex Riegel, Kolt Parker and five great-grandkids: Jayden, Judson, Kali, Mia, and McCoy.  Dolores is also survived by her one and only sister Kathy King, which she loved spending time with.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Four Winds for taking care of Dolores in her long stay there.

Graveside services will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery on Lenhart Road at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 30, with Pastor Hannah Niday officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Four Winds Community, 215 Seth Ave., Jackson, Ohio 45640.
