Melody Mae Moore, 53, of Lakeland, FL, passed away Monday, Nov. 23, 2020 from a long battle with ALS. Melody was born on June 9, 1967 in Portsmouth, OH to Herbert Moore and the late Evelyn Johnson. Melody was a 1985 graduate of Oak Hill High School.
Melody enjoyed dancing, music, visiting family, especially her grandbabies, and long car rides. Her smile would light up the room. Her personality was infectious and her faith was unbreakable.
Melody is survived by her father, Herbert Moore and step-mother, Dianne Moore of Jackson, Ohio; her daughters, Jordan Galicia and Jasmine Galicia of Lakeland, FL; her grandbabies, Omari, Kamryn, Xiomi, Xenira, Evelynn, Emalynn, and Evonn of Lakeland, FL; her siblings, Butch (Candi) Moore of Jackson and Becky (Brent) Evans of Jackson; nieces and nephews, Derek Moore, Gabby (Kevin) Mango, Courtney Evans, Sheldon (Kaylee) Moore, and Megan Moore; great-nieces, and a great-nephew, Rylynn, Blake, Collins and Arabella; as well as her grandmother, Fannie Kleps, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Johnson and her grandmother, Myrtle Moore.
A visitation will be held on Dec. 1, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Coney Funeral Home, 1404 Martin Luther King Ave., Lakeland, FL 33805. A funeral service will immediately follow. Melody will be laid to rest at Serenity Gardens, 3350 Mall Hill Drive, Lakeland, FL 33810.
