Perryette Cremeens Counts of Jackson, Ohio passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Monday, Oct. 26, 2020 at the age of 85. She was born Dec. 23, 1934 in Jackson, Ohio to the late Perry and Jane (Hughes) Cremeens.
Perryette was a graduate of Jackson High School, Class of 1951. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Ohio University and worked in the nursing field for over 30 years, retiring from the VA Medical Center after 20 years. She continued to work part-time at Oak Hill Hospital in the Psychiatric Unit and with Holzer Home Health Care until her final retirement at age 78.
She enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts, and caring for others.
She is survived by her husband, Don Counts; three daughters: Erin (Dave) Graf, Wendy (Mike) Young, and Kristin (Todd) Douthat; five grandchildren: Damon and Nicole Graf, Ryan and Megan Lynn, and Erin Douthat; and one great-grandchild, Wyatt Lynn.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by infant daughter, Cynthia Kelly; and her two chihuahuas, Puppers and King.
Following Perryette’s wishes, there will be no public services held. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
