Jimmie Ray Hale, Sr.

Jimmie Ray Hale, Sr., age 82, of Oak Hill, passed away early Friday morning, Oct. 16, 2020 at Riverside Hospital. He was born June 27, 1938 in Lovely, Kentucky to the late William Sheridan and Ella (Webb) Hale.

He is survived by his children, Kimberly (Hale) Euton, of Lancaster, OH, Robert (Dawn) Hale, of Jackson, Devin Hale, of Ravenna, OH, and Brandon Hale, of Lancaster, OH; grandchildren, Tiffani Hale, Chase Hinderer, Natalie Hale, Hannah Hale, Megan Hale, and Olivia Hale; great-grandson, Maddox; siblings, Betty Jo Harmon, Ronnie Hale, Patty Romans, Bill Hale, Jack Hale, and Dorothy Davidson; and special friend, Donna King. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judith (Bailey) Hale; son, Jimmie Hale Jr.; and brothers, Sammy, Leonard, Everett, Ellis, Edsel and Quinton Hale.

Jimmie was a United States Army veteran. He had his own oil trucking business, he then was an independent truck driver. In later years, he drove for Smith Transfer Trucking Co. and retired from Roadway Trucking Co. He was such a light in the world and never failed to make you laugh and smile. He was known by his smile, his honesty and his gratitude toward everyone. One of his passions was his beloved dog named “Hound Dog.”

Friends may call Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2020 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, 2020 at the funeral home with Pastor Fred Crabtree officiating. Burial will follow in C.M. Cemetery.
