Evelyn Mae Evans, age 103, of Oak Hill, Ohio, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born Oct. 21, 1916 in Winchester, Ohio to the late Bentley and Vivian (Gordon) Andrews.

She was a graduate of Bloomfield High School. In earlier years, she worked as a Nanny and also as an aide at the Davis Home. Evelyn attended the very first Jackson County Apple Festival. She was a faithful member of Sardis Presbyterian Church and the Loyalty Class where she attended as long as her health allowed. She helped out on the family farm and enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by her daughters: Jane Dunn, Sharon Walls, and Rita Allen; son-in-law, Greg Gilley; grandchildren: Chris (Felicia) Walls, David (Angie) Dunn, Michael (Connie) Walls, Brian (Tracy) Dunn, Kristie (Garrick) Schomburg, Alicia (Heath) Shaner, and Kellie (Jared) Madden; great-grandchildren: Devon (Kendra) Walls, Tyler Walls, Chelsea Walls, Zach Walls (Kira Mullins), Jared Walls, Emileigh Dunn (Clay Bapst), Evan (Alexis) Dunn, Trafford Dunn, Trista Dunn, Brady Schomburg, Jaxon Schomburg, Case Shaner, Kendall Madden, and Creed Madden; and great-great-grandson, Liam Walls.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Evans; daughter, Ann Gilley; brother, Lewis Andrews; sister, Margaret Wyscarver; and sons-in-law, David Dunn, Tom Walls, and Fred Allen.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 5, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 2 p.m. with Rev. Herman Stewart and Pastor Jim Snyder officiating. Burial will follow at Hill Cemetery.
