Winifred Abele Phillips, age 97, of Jackson, passed away at Holzer Medical Center-Jackson on Tuesday, March 12, 2019. She was born in Jackson on Nov. 6, 1921 to the late Clyde and Ida (Radcliff) Martin.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Martin Abele, her second husband, Harry Phillips, and a son, Earl Martin Abele; her brother and sister-in-law, Loren (Juanita) Martin and a niece, Sherri Jo Martin.
She is survived by her brothers, Charles Martin (Lucille) and Richard Martin (JoAnn) and nieces and nephews: Terry Currier, Kim Martin, Debbie West and Donna Martin Erwin of Georgia.
Winifred was a 1939 graduate of Jackson High School, and attended Bliss Business College in Ashland, Kentucky. She worked at Abele Ford and was a real estate agent for Jan Gettles Realty for many years.
Funeral services will be held at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 16 with Pastor Ron Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
