Forrest “Bud” Lewis Jr.

Forrest “Bud” Lewis, Jr., age 91 of Jackson and formally of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He was born in Jackson on February 24, 1927 to the late Forrest Sr. and Marcella (nee Simpson) Lewis. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Lewis.

Bud is survived by his wife of 72 years, Ruth R. (nee Sullivan) Lewis; sons: Roger E. Lewis and Richard T. Lewis Sr. (Debra); three grandchildren: Richard T. Lewis Jr. (Lindsay), Rustina L. Lewis and Michela N. Waite (Chandler); great-grandchildren: Kayla, Kerrigan and Piper Lewis, Keegan Stutz, Wade Artz, Lucas and Logan Waite; a sister, Dorothy Slavens and several nieces and nephews.

Bud was a self-employed general contractor, having built many houses in both the Jackson and Springfield areas. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jackson. He loved to play golf, and to hunt and fish.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Timothy Keeton officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Jackson, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at noon at the funeral home.
