Betty Ruth Haley, age 92, formally of Jackson and most recently of Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Jersey Shore Manor Care in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania. She was born on February 18, 1926 in Oak Hill, Ohio to the late Ora and Myrtle (nee Slye) Crabtree. Besides here parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold R. Haley; and her sisters: Moneta Woodruff and Beverly Jo McCumber.
She is survived by her children: John Haley (Elizabeth) of Pennsylvania, Cheryl R. Yinger (Brian) of Oak Hill, Ohio and Mark A. Haley (Victoria) of Delaware, Ohio; five grandchildren: Josh Brickey, Tracy Brickey, Jillian Haley, Sarah Haley and Erin Bissman; and six great-grandchildren: Austin, Jon, Michael, Tristen, Matthew and McKenna, along with several nieces and nephews.
Having lived most of her life in Jackson, Betty worked for various department stores, including Stiffler’s and G. C. Murphy’s. She enjoyed sewing and embroidery, reading, and loved talking to her circle of friends on the phone – often until the wee hours of the morning.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 5, 2018 at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home with Celebrant Bill Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Jackson, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
