Mary I. Jones

Mary I. Jones, age 82, of Oak Hill, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Oct. 26, 2018 at Holzer Medical Center, in Gallipolis. She was born Dec. 19, 1935 in Point Pleasant, West Virginia to the late Cebert Rainey and Faye E. (Hoffman) Smith.

She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Dunn, Jackie (David) Brisker, both of Oak Hill; Patty Miller (Terry Roush), of Point Pleasant, WV; 12 grandchildren, Jason (Barb) Buck, LeAndria Johnson, Amy (Jason) Teeters, Jeremy Potts, Dani Swann (Gabor), Andi (Shaun) Locklear, Denita Ross (Chris), Heath (Lisa) Brisker, Marcus (Tiffany) Brisker, Derrick (Catherine) Brisker, Joey (Carissa) Miller, Paul Miller; 25 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are special friends that were more like family to her, Sherlyn Dunn, Carla Pennington and Chris and Yvonne; numerous cousins, relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Alice and Sonny Rainey; grandson, Joshua McCoy; and son-in-law, Jeff Dunn; and her beloved son, Paul McCoy.

Mary moved to Oak Hill in 1975 and it became her home. She worked at the Oak Hill Teen Center where she will always be fondly remembered as “Grandma Jones.” She coached softball and was known as “Mom” to everyone at the ball fields in Point Pleasant. She loved her family, grandchildren, flowers and her country.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018 at C.M. Cemetery in Oak Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any veteran organization, or charity of your choice. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com
