Billy Ray Robinson, 61, of Jackson, formerly of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018 at the Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky after an extended illness for over one year.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Delmar and Rosie (Elliott) Robinson and one brother, Clarence Eugene Robinson.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda (Sharp) Robinson of 26 years; one brother, Robert (Mary) Robinson of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; and one sister, Sarah Jane Lewis (Bobbie Joe).

He leaves behind an abundance of loving nieces and nephews, cousins and friends; best friends, being neighbors, Don and Linda Ruggles. He loved them all dearly; several special ones.

Billy was born on Dec. 13, 1956 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky on Happy Hollow Road. He lived there until he turned 9 years old. Then the family built a home on Katy Friend Branch in Prestonsburg just off of Route 23.

He lived there with Wanda from 1992 until 2015 when they made the move to 228 N. High St. in Jackson, Ohio.

Lord a mercy, Billy loved flea markets, yard sales and “furder more” antiques.

He left behind so many people who knew and loved him. Sadly, he will be missed.

A funeral service will be held at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018 at 7 p.m. with Pastor Phil Taylor officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. prior to the service.
