Judi Renee Kennedy, age 50, of Wellston, passed away Monday, Sept. 3, 2018, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was born April 16, 1968 in Gallipolis, Ohio.
Judi was a home health care worker, who was formerly employed at both Jenkins Care Community and Bellisio Foods for several years. She was a down-to-earth person who enjoyed life’s little things, as in cooking for her family, playing darts and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Judi is survived by her mother, Eugena Faye Smith Riegel of Wellston; children, Teddy Simpson (Samantha) of Wellston, Jason Simpson (Britney) of Wellston and Sarah Simpson (Damon Popp) of Jackson; brothers, Randy Kennedy and Russ Kennedy, both of Jackson; fiancé, Scott Long of Wellston, along with 13 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Judi was preceded in death by her father, Russell Edward Kennedy; and her husband, Ted Simpson.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Hixon and Steve Benson officiating. Burial will follow in the Byer Cemetery.
