Barbara Adkins, age 68, of Oak Hill, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 10th, 2018 at Holzer of Gallipolis. She was born December 5th, 1949 in Jackson, Ohio to the late Lewis Ray and Lottie (Ward) Hommes.
Barbara was a member of the Beauty of Holiness Church. She loved to crochet, play the piano, sing, and teach Sunday School.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, John D. Adkins; siblings: Larry (Alice) Johnson, Patricia Seeders, Connie Boothe, Eugene “Dean” (Bonita) Hommes, and Brenda (John) Coleman; very precious and close friend, Jill McCarty; as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sandy Hargett; and brother-in-law, Karl Seeders.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, July 13th, 2018 from 12-2PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2PM at the funeral home with Pastor Eric Jude officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
