Jean Colley Roberts

Jean Colley Roberts, age 84, of Wellston, passed away Monday, July 9, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born May 30, 1934 in Wellston, Ohio, the daughter of the late William “Bill” Colley and Laura Whalen Colley Kinsel.

Jean was a 1952 graduate of Wellston High School and also a graduate of Career Beauty School in Chillicothe. She was a former beautician in the Wellston and Jackson area for 32 years. Jean was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wellston, where she was a former Deacon and very active in the church and its activities. Her interests included her love of sewing, gardening, painting and music, but what brought her the most joy in her life was being a wife, mother and grandmother.

Jean is survived by her husband of 32 years, Darrell Ray Roberts; daughters, Lila Littlejohn Thacker (Rick) of Wellston and Teresa Littlejohn Justice of Wellston; step-daughters, Cindy Wolfe (Keith) of Rodney, Kathy Casto (Bob) of Bidwell, and Cherrie McClure (Bill) of Gallipolis; grandchildren, Jessica Littlejohn Johnson, Emily Littlejohn, Jimmy Littlejohn, Amanda Ousley (Burt Leach), Alisha Thacker Adkins (Davey), Matthew DuRae, Eric DuRae, and Natalie Justice; step-grandchildren, Darci Roberts Lopez (Nick), Carissa Wolfe Molihan (Eric), Trenton Wolfe, Nathan McClure, Samantha McClure Burns (Jordan), and Allison McClure; niece, Linda Colley McClaskey of Vinton; as well as 8 great-grandchildren, 3 step-great-grandchildren, and several other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including good friends, Janet Davis of Wellston and Rosalind Price of Arcanum. Besides her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her loving son, James “Jimmy” Littlejohn, and her brother, Ralph D. Colley. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday at 1 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Cummings and Elder Susie Cummings Schneider officiating. For those who wish, contributions in Jean’s memory can be given to Heartland Hospice, 404 East Huron Street, Jackson, Ohio 45640.
