Nancy Williams

By | June 11, 2018

Nancy Williams, a life-long resident of Jackson, Ohio, died June 10, 2018 in Powell, Ohio with her family at her side. Nancy was best known for her beautiful voice and leading roles in local plays and operettas, including her role as Kitty in Gallia Country.

She was a life-long member of the First Presbyterian Church singing in the choir, and as a soloist there and at many other local churches. She was also a member of the local Harmonettes when big bands and the Lennon Sisters were still the music of the day. Nancy was also an accomplished artist and loved painting birds and butterflies. Pretty much everything she wore had butterflies embroidered into it. Before failing health, Nancy provided care for relatives and friends, and grew beautiful flowers that were the envy of her garden club friends.

Married to Kenneth Williams for almost 60 years, together they raised four beautiful children: Joe, Melody, Diane, and Suzy.

Viewing will be at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 12 to 2 p.m. with a service immediately following at 2 p.m. Burial services will be at Fairmont Cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers, Nancy requested donations be made to: First Presbyterian Church of Jackson, 225 Church Street, Jackson, OH 45640.
