Mark Strosnider Cavey, age 69, of Jackson/Wellston passed away Monday, May 7, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He was born July 12, 1948 in Gallipolis to the late Wilbur and Freda (Strosnider) Cavey.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lily (Roberts) Cavey, of Jackson, Ohio; children, Staci (Kevin) Mercer and Heather (John) Sorrell; grandchildren, Colin Cavey, Kara Coffey Duhl, Ethan and Gage Mercer and Garrett Aldridge. Also surviving are 6 great grandchildren and numerous family and friends.
Mark was a 1966 Jackson High School graduate. He was a long time drag racing enthusiast, especially racing and winning numerous times in the “King of the Hill” race at the South Webster drag strip. He will be greatly missed.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at the Fairmount Cemetery in Jackson. At his request no calling hours will be observed. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com
