Vivian M. Pelletier

Vivian M. Pelletier, age 93, of Wellston, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018 at the Holzer Medical Center in Jackson, Ohio. She was born July 16, 1924 in Malta, Ohio to the late Russell M. McDaniel and Stella Carr McDaniel.

Vivian was a homemaker and provider for her family, and was an excellent cook. In her own words, “the key to good cooking is to add a little bit of sugar to everything!”

Vivian was also an accomplished artist. She shared her love of art with many throughout the years and received numerous awards for her talent in oil painting. In her earlier years, Vivian was a nurse’s aide at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, taught ceramics out of her home, and was an avid bowler. Vivian was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wellston and, over the years, she held positions as the church office manager, elder and trustee.

Vivian is survived by daughter, Sandra Wells of Toledo; son and daughter-in-law, John and Connie Pelletier of Wellston; grandchildren, Barbara Sauls, Edward Wells, Rebecca Wells, David Wells, Jona Bates (Jeffery), Michael Pelletier (Melissa), Ryan Pelletier (Ashley), Bart Wiseman (Dana), and Britney Pelletier; sister, Eileen Siddle of Columbus, along with 13 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, Horace C. Pelletier in 2010.

Memorial service will be held Sunday, March 18, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Wellston, where a visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Byer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions in Vivian’s name be given to the First Presbyterian Church, 18 South Pennsylvania Avenue, Wellston, Ohio 45692.
